If the parties involved are using effective birth control, there is nothing wrong. If, however a baby comes out of it, it is wrong because the child can have birth defects.
In 6th grade, bringing a wooden knife to school. It wasn't sharp at all. I only had it for spreading spreadable things on other things in my lunch. I was sent to the office and almost suspended.
Minimum age you can date without seeming creepy= (1/2*your age)+7, so even if the 8th grader is 14, it seems bad. That said, I wouldn't expect this to become serious in any way, so you should just let it play out however it does.
