immersion is getting the riot act from the wife for playing all night and halfway through realising its a 2nd rollicking and she's just got back from work in the afternoon 19 straight hours of vampire masquerade the bloodlines.. couldn't comprehend it was the afternoon.
Yes miscellaneousBob lots of people have had teething problems such as its big brother approach to software already on your pc. But it has features that suit you so I'm glad for you but I never play any game online so talking with friends is what I do face to face and therefore just one more...
no problem... its just meat. I see enough of it as I work in the mortuary so maybe I'm a bit desensitized. Although I have to say I saw a documentary about some guys in the antartic who had to eat their husky dogs and although eating dog wouldn't bother me.... the thought of killing it first...
AxCx thank you. your words are music to my ears. People who haven't had to wait 2 weeks to play a game because of an internet fault or suffered poor gameplay because steam is running, or suffered installation problems have no sympathy for others and until it affects them they will not...
oppp7... if you are asking what problems exist with steam... there are several but to pick a few.
it took over a day to install a game because it kept ignoring my disk and tried to download the entire game.
it is software I neither want on my pc, running in the background or accessing my...
I'm not smart enough to have the answer to stop piracy and the developers have the right to protect their product but Steam just goes too far. It is designed for online multiplayers and is not (too) problematic for those. but for the majority of people who don't want to play the same (YAWN) map...
Think about it.... YOU are valve, 1000's of people have bought say 30 games each (£1000 or $1000) and they have nothing just a promise of a patch from you. Now YOU are going broke and going out of business, how much do you think that patch is worth to someone who has £1000 worth of hot air if...
I no longer have to use steam so I alone decide what software runs on my pc. I couldn't care less whether it was resource hungry or whether it came with a free £50 and accelerated my cpu and increased my ram... I never asked for it. I bought a game and Steam was on it and gave me nothing but...
Thats where you are mistaken my friend... the truth is STEAM has you.... IT has your games you own nothing physical if you bought online and should the worst happen then nothing is exactly what you'll be left with. For your own peace of mind I'd buy the discs in future even if you do blindly...
It's nice to see some people out there are cognitive. After exploring the Anti Steam community I feel sorry for the blinkered approach of the "I love steam so I don't care if it is causing you problems" crowd. Because I have physical discs and yes maybe someone could break and enter and steal my...
Hooray!!! I had no idea how ENORMOUS the anti steam community is and as such I have found software that allows me to install my games without the dreaded 3rd party steam software or even an internet connection... it simply emulates the connection so no worries over lag, no worries over downloads...
To all who love steam... more power to you but I don't play multi player and all my friends are tangible people that I see face to face to talk with. I have no need, desire or liking for it so why should I suffer?
I'm not saying sell the steam account I'm saying sell the disc, and its retail box and give them the account details. so I start a new game say "civilisation 8" so I start an email address called CIV8 @ gmail.com I start a steam account called CIV8ID using the gmail account and the details of...
Activision lost loads of fans after screwing us pc owners with modern warfare 2 if they want to screw people through DLC then put only single player on disc and all multiplayer through steam. I'm happy without DLC and updates... just prefer a little value for money... no more £50 for a 4 hour...
whats to stop you selling your account on and opening up a new account every game ? in fact it almost begs for you to sell your 2nd hand game and pass on the account details to the new game owner. just open up another e-mail address and start a new account with every game..... I wonder how long...
