Thanks for linking to this! It is, as you say, a fascinating story. It's nice to think that there is a hoard of pristine Spitfires out there just waiting to be discovered, but it all starts to come apart when you ask why someone would go to all that trouble. Maybe there's a movie in there somewhere.
We only have to look at the most recent Steam Sales to show that even fan favourite Valve stopped doing the biggest sales once they gained such a dominant position in the marketplace. The cheapest place to get Steam games these days usually isn't on Steam.
Have we really fallen so far that Sir Christopher Lee is only known as 'Saruman Actor?'
OT: Sounds like a pretty cool concept, and it looks like they're fairly far along. I look forward to seeing the final product.
Was that an intentional joke about WoW phasing? Or did the editor not pick up that it's supposed to be fazed? :P
OT: As others have said, this is pretty standard for an MMO where sub numbers will go up for a few months after a new expansion comes out. WoW will probably be around for some...
Actually, those of us in Australia often get better pings on US servers than Asian servers. The 'Oceanic' servers that many games offer are often based in the US anyway, but have their maintenance scheduled around an Asian clock instead of a US one.
Having just started playing SWTOR again...
Or you know, because he actually wanted to see the other material on screen. It's easy to accuse someone of money grubbing, but unless you're friends with Jackson and he told you that he was only in it for the cash, it's just baseless accusations.
The extra material (Erebor) that Jackson has...
From memory (DRK is a bit hazy for me as well), those scenes were largely about showing off the augmented leg, which gets into the murky territory of whether or not the Director insisted on having those shots, in which case the DoP has to go with it and make sure it looks as good as possible...
None of which has anything to do with cinematography, which is what he was referencing.
People seem to be assuming that this guy is jealous that The Avengers was a more popular movie, but to me it simply sounds like a professional commenting on an aspect of his craft. As a cinematographer, he...
While I would love a KOTOR 3, it would never match up to the scale of TOR. One of the things I like best about TOR is the multiple storylines. I've found classes like the Bounty Hunter and Smuggler are far more fun than the Jedi/Sith plotlines and force users are always the focus of a KOTOR...
It's understandable that the site can't afford to lose the ad revenue from it's busiest day of the week, but will The Escapist be taking other steps to protest such as boycotting E3?

I suppose the question now is whether The Escapist will boycott E3 unless the ESA drops its support of SOPA/PIPA. There have been plenty of articles here about the bills, but I'm unsure if the site will go the extra distance.
Since the addition of multiple streams for the online pass, it's far better value for money. $40 isn't really all that much at the end of the day, and it's the next best thing to being there. Living in Australia it would cost me an absolute fortune to get over there for Blizzcon, so I settle for...
This has a lot of potential if the plan is to flesh the characters out to move away from the stereotypes. The sound design needs a lot of work though. This is often where web-series fall down.
