    What Magazines Do You Read?

My three golden favorite: - Game Informer (for a great overview of everything) - PC Gamer (for focus on my favorite gaming platform) - Game Developer (because, well, I'm a game developer) I also receive EGM, but I *hate* that one, and only get it because it's free. For non-gaming...

    Nintendo DS - Game Recommendations

Only three games I found fun: - New Super Mario Bros - Advance Wars: Dual Strike - Castevania: Portraits of Ruins Otherwise, I've been extremelly disappointed by all other big games. But I must be just crazy, cause I'm apparently one of the few ones that prefere to play on my PSP than...

    EA Reduces Support For PSP

I'm one of those that think there's much more *fun* in the PSP than the DS (I own both, with plenty of games for both). I just happen to prefere the PSP. So seeing the biggest publisher backing out is really sad. At the same time, I don't like most of the EA games at all, so I'm not going to...

What have you been playing lately?

Oh yeah! X-COM forever! What I don't understand, is that a company, somewhere, owns the rights for the X-COM franchise, and they're doing nothing with it. A game exactly like the first (not trying to fix what already work), but with an updated moderne engine... the dream.

Escapist Readers take on table top in a digital age.

My turn again to respectfully disagree: the two games only share one single element, the theme. Past the theme there's no similitude at all. But then it will still compete on the same demography, because the "fantasy medieval" theme is appealing to that specific group of people. It's like...

Escapist Readers take on table top in a digital age.

I'm big video gamer, and also making a living programming them. That said, I enjoy boardgaming as much as video games. But then I'm not talking about the old, horrible ones you get in a Toys'R'Us, but about the "german" style boardgames. Like Puerto Rico, Power Grid, Amun-Re, Edel Stein &...

Escapist Readers take on table top in a digital age.

I'm not sure how you roleplay, but roleplaying and Magic is two completelly different worlds. Roleplaying is about acting out roles, interaction and story telling. Whereas Magic is straight down to numbers and mathematic formulae. I think the real reason why Magic almost killed RPGs is that...

    We?re going to PAX!

I hope to be there, but the logistic to travel to Bellevue is pretty hellish. I know some car caravans are driving from coast-to-coast, but they're not on my way. So I'll have to improvise something. See, I live in Redmond, WA, and Bellevue is like, I'm not kidding you, two full highway exits...

What are you playing this weekend?

I played a healthy dose of Daxter on my PSP and New Super Mario on my DS. Otherwise, I filled other blanks on the excellent "Weird Worlds" for PC. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/digital_eel/Weird_worlds/1.htm
