The one red dot means that the cables are mot plugged in correctly, I had the same problem on my new xbox slim and all i had to do was unplug the a/v cables then replug and it worked like a charm... Also the 'slim' is not as slim as I thought it would be, when i compared it to my old xbox 360...

Looking down in an fps and discovering that you lack half your body, a majority of fps's do this (even some new ones) and it bugs the hell out of me. :l
