Dragon Age 2 is s badly done compared to Mass Effect 2

Yeah, DA2 is still better than DA:O but when you play ME2 and realize how well-done that game is, then the rush job of DA2 becomes apparent. Another thing: you can see visible aliasing problems in DA2 while they do not exist in ME2. Like, the weird scan line thing

Dragon Age 2 is s badly done compared to Mass Effect 2

lol. Games are cheaper this way :) It is kind of striking just how sparse DA2's environments are compared to ME2, and how little care seems to have been put into its game world. At the same time, the fighting engine is fantastic IMO. But overall there just seems to have been far less care...

Dragon Age 2 is s badly done compared to Mass Effect 2

Both games came out at roughly the same time. But Mass Effect 2 is so much a better game. They manage to make the loading screens tolerable and fit into the game world fiction of interstellar travel, while in DA2 the loading screens are so very obvious. And ME2 doesn't recycle...

Dragon Age 2 is superior to the first despite what everyone says

One more thing... In post-release interviews, Bioware has said something like, "we had more content than art assets" Which is hilariously off-base. You create content as an excuse to go through art assets. Oh my my.

No DLC should be more than 5 bucks

And preferably 3 bucks or less. Dragon Age 2 has 2 DLC packs. Those packs cost $10 each. THe game can be bought for $20 bucks new.

Dragon Age 2 is superior to the first despite what everyone says

The thing about the whole stat RPG thing is that it's kind of a relic from when the most advanced video game was pong. If you think about it, games like Modern Warfare are actually RPG's. They have weapon stats and hit points. Meanwhile, the concept of stats doesn't exist in real life sports for...

Dragon Age 2 is superior to the first despite what everyone says

KOTOR 2 was essentially a campaign pack though, wasn't it? The engine was largely the same as I remember. It's weird but for me KOTOR 1 was a magical experience, KOTOR 2 had an intriguing story. The dragon age games are more advanced, but they seem to lack the same magic of the KOTOR series...

No game should have a game world map readily visible

Even for shooter games though, there's a reason why they are FPS games and not tactical RTS games. Soldiers don't really have GPS systems while they are doing combat operations IRL. And having it in the game IMO takes away some of the mystery of combat and of the unknown. It also makes it a...

No game should have a game world map readily visible

A game like The map in Dragon Age 2 is actually better than any GPS system I've ever used. And yes, you would have a map in hand, but it wouldn't have a little dot that was you moving along with it. The architecture in Dragon Age is nice, but still it isn't near as impressive as World...

Games this year you're gonna wait for a price drop.

the real question is, is any game worth full price nowadays? the only ones I can see any gamer regularly shelling out full price are 1) the Halo games or any game with extensive MP 2) the madden games SP games with heavy narratives like Batman Arkham Asylum really are only worth 20...

lol same. 20 bucks is the most I'll pay nowadays.

No game should have a game world map readily visible

Okay, slight exagerration, but in games where you are navigating your little avatar through the game world, a game world map is a negative to the experience. The reason is that you end up looking at your little arrow on the map instead of looking at the game world. This is especially jarring in...

Dragon Age 2 is superior to the first despite what everyone says

Bioware is weird in how they do sequels. Does anyone not remember KOTOR 2 and the weird rush job that it was? If they had been lazy, they wouldn't have revamped the art and combat systems. btw, if you're just tuning in, the two-handed warrior is by far the best class to play in this...

    Requirements for an RPG

Basically, an RPG is any game where the avatar you are controlling has a backstory. So I would actually consider Halo to be an RPG. I would not consider Sim City or Starcraft 2 to be RPG's. Those are Strategy and god games.

Dragon Age 2 is superior to the first despite what everyone says

DA2's warrior is much better now. Warrior is much more fun than the rogue which is nice for a change.
