None of these things sound particularly unfair to me. Sure, the "call your mom about the promotion" thing is a bit creepy, but for the most part they're just common courtesies that everybody should extend to their significant other. As long as they're reciprocated of course.

I've never understood the American pronunciation of "Antarctica". Americans pronounce it An-art-ica, where the correct pronunciation is Ant-arc-tic-a. It's like they start the word then completely lose interest in the middle.

I'm more worried about the price of DLC really. It's easier to justify buying a complete game off the XBLA, than a couple of hours extra gameplay for an already released game.

I wouldn't advise coming to New Zealand. It's cold, and there is literally nothing to do. Once you've seen one pretty grass field, you've seen them all.
