Getting noticed on YouTube is almost entirely about luck. I'd say concentrate on providing good, quality content, but that's actually entirely optional most of the time.

Zelda just has a massive fanbase. Putting it in a competition like that, especially somewhere as big as G4, is nearly unfair to the other games. I'm just glad Skyrim made it close, I don't think Revelations will even get 40% of the final vote.
