Mass Effect is fantastic - it's the reason I initially bought a 360 (back when it was still 360-exclusive). My advice: decide ahead of time which system you're going to want to play ME2 on (PC or 360), and get ME1 on that same system so you can level up your Shepard and use him in ME2.
