When you say "gothic" do you mean "goth/symphonic metal" because Cradle of Filth and Evanescence aren't goth. Goth music originated from post punk and similar genres in the 80s. Gothic bands are bands like Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy etc
