The Sphere Grid was patented by SE back when this game came out, so only SE can have it in one of there games. They could license it, but I don't think many dev are looking to drop a bunch of cash on something that isn't critical to what they're trying to do.
Are we really considering these people "fans" anymore, once you threaten to kill somebody's kids I don't think you're allowed to be a fan of that person's creation. I get so tired of this, F^@% the internet, the people that say this stuff are spineless little worms.

I recently watched yet another video about the Battlefront series, the video outlined many different reasons for a third entry in the series. However one thing the video seemingly failed to mention was sales numbers, the Battlefront series has sold over 14 million units (not including PC sales)...
The only games in which it felt right were Fallout 3 and New Vegas, in those games you could really avoid the mechanic if you wanted to, but you could use it to your advantage if you didn't mind it.

I'd say codes like this being included with physical copies of games would (hopefully) make buyers more cautious, which would drastically reduce preorders and early sales of the game, so if the game is trash the publisher would be worse off than if they hadn't put the code in. Also multiplayer...
