Daniel and James Interviewed by Micah C. On Blistered Thumbs

http://www.blisteredthumbs.net/2010/11/sitdowns-with-micah-c-extra-credits/ Anyone else listen to/watch this? Honestly, I wasn't all that impressed. They went over all the things that James and Dan have made videos about and it seemed like Dan and James were caught off guard by many of the...

Do Game Snobs Dream in Two Dimensions?

I gotta admit, it doesn't work most of time for me either. It has to be really deliberate for me to really notice. That doesn't make me biased, to anyone that might think that. I can still get stereoscope and still find it useless for games.

    A thought about Samus Aran.

I remember reading that Samus was just flexible enough to basically ball up, fetal-like, to fit in. In Prime, the ball is somewhat larger than it may seem, IIRC, 1 meter, which would be large enough for someone to squat into.

Do Game Snobs Dream in Two Dimensions?

What comes to mind for me was color TV. Obviously I wasn't exactly around when it was first put to market, but IIRC, it wasn't released and then IMMEDIATELY was in every household in the US. It had the same problems as HD: high price point (partially due to rarer tech, but also due to demand)...

Do Game Snobs Dream in Two Dimensions?

I understand depth perception perfectly well. As I said, if stereoscope can be done without causing pain or otherwise being obstructive in some way, then sure, go ahead. But it's no use to games. That very point, about the video cards having to be that step above, is a detriment.

Do Game Snobs Dream in Two Dimensions?

If it was a video, would it be easier to take in? I've considered making videos, I just don't have the opportunity...

Do Game Snobs Dream in Two Dimensions?

There are clear paragraphs, SIR! Yeah that commercial pissed me off. It was just a perfect stupid memorial to just how big the fad is right now.

bump? Don't mean to be annoying, just want to get some opinions.

What do you think is the most important thing on a really good video game?

I used to feel this way, but I've actually come to put gameplay and the story on the same level.

Do Game Snobs Dream in Two Dimensions?

Probably the most confusing, astonishing, and enraging commercial I've ever seen was one by Samsung, promoting their fantastic new television that could supposedly reproduce 3D imagery. A typical white television family gazed, mouths agape, at the aquarium they were walking through, staring like...

Poll: Do you classify Portal as a FPS?

    It's a first-person puzzler. I don't see the confusion.

    Game Changer

If you take the video game and comic book references from this movie, what do you have? The tale of Mr. Same-In-Every-Movie Michael Cera, hunting lustfully (NOT out of love) after a one-dimensional, undeveloped, unattractive in personality (and physicality imo) plot device. Worse of all, he...

    Review: Madden NFL 11

If they made a good product, there wouldn't be as much hate. Or they could free the license and allow some competition. Or do you support monopolies?

    Review: Madden NFL 11

I watched LordKaT play this game over his livestream. In the first game he played, there were at least 10 fumbles, 4 interceptions, and easily 10 hurt players on both his _and_ the computer opponent's teams. ...what?! How is that even possible? Because it was raining?! Can't really accept...

Moving to Kinect the Dots of Motion Gaming

Thanks! And thanks for responding! :) Yeah, this is true. Innovation is really becoming something of a rarity nowadays. I feel Daniel Floyd went over the idea well in the most recent "Extra Credits". See, "cool" is really my problem with this. This "coolness" comes from the tech, not the game...
