I'm buying a boat, and she'll need a name. Suggestions?

That's awesome, use that. I don't know why but I think it would be funny to name a boat "Woody Allen".

    Facts debate.

There was a truce offered, Britain may have taken it if Hitler hadn't ordered bombing of British assets. There was no way that Britain would surrender without even fighting an invasion. What I'll add to this is that people who have birthdays in September-December tend to be more...

    Facts debate.

The "That's the reason why sniper's work in pairs" is not true. One guy always uses the rifle and one guy always uses the spotting scope (or whatever instrument he has.) The spotter's purpose is to provide range and windage data for the sniper and (if it comes to it) to defend the sniper with...

    So, you're a sniper...

How about you just say that you are using an XM109 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrett_XM109], with Raufoss style rounds. Thus you will kill the people around him. A lot simpler. And I think that almost any soldier would take that shot. Innocents sometimes have to be killed in the line of...

What would your personal Mech be?

The Fafnir assault. It doesn't take any crap. It's more appropriate to measure the calibre of each of those cannons in "man-lengths" than anything else.

Proof: 1 = 2 (no division by zero!)

Yeah, I've been banging on about the index. Try working it out for youself now on a bit of paper using sigma notation: Calculate (using the definition of derivative being limit as h tends to zero of (f(x+h)-f(x))/h) ) the derivative of the sum of x xs. And you will see that you are trying to...

Proof: 1 = 2 (no division by zero!)

In a way you are correct. This is the issue, but that x+x+...+x is not (x+x+...+x)*x it is the sum of x xs (ecks eckses). You see? If I could write the notation on this forum this would be a lot clearer to most people.

Proof: 1 = 2 (no division by zero!)

Your derivitive is incorrect. You have the equivalent of the sum using index i=1,...,x of (x). Your x is variable and dependant on your inner term so this sum is invalid, the problems with this invalidity arise in the derivation. If you were to use the definitions of derivation on that equation...

    Poll: A little math problem

They would laugh at me, but only for bringing them such a simple question. The sample space has already been said : M/M, M/F, F/M, F/F Now the events must be sorted correctly; m1: the event that one dog is male. m2: The event that the other dog is male. You are told that m1 has...
