Probably Halo: CE Half-life is a close 2nd but the music, while being ace tends to kick in a the wrong times e.g. when you've just rambo'd through a town and no enemies are left.

AC was especially disappointing to me because even though the game had repetitive gameplay and lack of stealth (as mentioned above), the setting of Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus was amazing! The cities were beautiful and absolutely massive and it would be a shame if they were forgotten for AC 2...
