Your european credit card won't work with the US PSN store. You'll have to use something like Entropay (a virtual credit card service) if you don't want to buy overpriced US PSN cards. I'm in Malaysia but I use a US PSN account and Entropay's what I use to buy my PS1 games for my PS3.
