i've spent atleast 9 hours playing Team Fortress 2.

start off with Team Fortress 2 or Combat Arms. both are free and fun to play. combat arms can get a bit old though. TF2 is MASSIVE fun, and gets very addicting. other than that, i'd go with Half Life 2, or Counter Strike: Source.
