My strategy definitely does consider defense without any points in Block. Train 1H, Heavy Armor, Resto, Alteration, Smithing. Take perks for 30% Magic Resistance, huge armor, and huge healing. Cast +Armor spells. Proceed to soak ALL THE DAMAGE. Heal if < 50%. Win the game.
