I'm not just referring to unlocking a new difficulty but about progression.
Most games have that. As you progress through a game, it usually becomes more challenging.
Recently, i got into a friendly argument with a friend on whether difficulty can be a reward in a game.

You're not standing out, a lot of people in this thread have had the same opinion as you (that not all games are art). Hell, i even believe that games have the potential to become art, but not all of them.
