boot the PC normally, then hit ctl-alt-del and write down all the system processes running. do the same in safe-mode and compare the two. google any of the ones that don't appear in SF and find out how to get rid of them. hope that helps
if you get arrested in GTA for slaughtering 50 odd people, you get your guns confiscated and lose a bit of cash. thats a little different from life in prison though.
depends on the types of games you like really. maybe go for some of the classics:
fallout 2 is amazing, sorta turn based isometric shooter
baldurs gate 2 if you like RPG's
starcraft is a great RTS game
and unreal tournament for a solid FPS
