*Dire STRAITS.

Trying to use V.A.T.S. in non-Fallout games is EASILY my most-frequent example of this phenomenon. Probably because I played F3 for longer than just about every other current-gen game combined. I swear, I don't think I left a single unopened door, safe, or metal box in the entire wasteland.

True. Which is why I just keep coming back to the Victorian period, I guess. Guns existed, certainly, but they weren't particularly prevalent, accurate, nor efficient. Wow. That's also a really viable possibility. Imagine swan-diving off of the minarets at St. Basil's, or creeping along the battlements of the Kremlin. Great idea.

Interesting. Clearly, I'm not the only one thinking about this. :) Seems pretty obvious that there are certain elements that everyone's thought about (political/historical context, time prgression, the gun problem, etc.), and there are a lot of schools of thought regarding times and places that...

Hm...I'd worry that a middle-eastern setting might be too close to AC1. And, as history has progressed, the major centers of civilization have sort of geographically migrated West with the passage of time. So if AC1 was set in crusades-era Israel, and AC2 renaissance Italy, England and/or France...

Admittedly, that would also be very cool. Really, any tumultuous period in history, where a lot was happening politically, and there was distinctive architecture would work.

It would have to be addressed. But I'm thinking it wouldn't be a HUGE deal. England has never really had the gun culture America has. Hell, even the cops in England didn't carry guns until the last 20 years, or so. My folks lived in London in the seventies, and the bobbies still just carried...

That, more than anything, is the reason I'd love to see it. Unlike WWII and ninjas, Victorian England hasn't been done to the point of cliché. Plus, for all of the reasons you mentioned, it just WORKS. It would meld seamlessly with the existing storyline, and the potential for missions that...
