I have to agree with "David Jaffe", were all seeing the effects now, as the technology gets better more is demanded, visually or otherwise, as a result more team members have to be added, increasing costs, its ether that or slower development times, go back 20 years and many of the "top titles"...

Assuming that the mass relay explosion dident kill almost everyone in the galaxy (as the destruction of the alpha relay destroys a solar system shouldn't all the others?), i would say control makes the most sence, instant end to the battle, and other than the loss of the relays (and shepard)...
