    Why is Obsidian so praised?

Within Obsidian are the hands-down best writers in the industry. There's no one else that comes close. Gameplay varies from good to below-average, there's always bugs out the ass, and the graphics aren't special (this is why most of their work are expansions, sequels, or using a well-established...

Poll: Does Yahtzee affect your game purchases?

I watch his videos because they're funny and he occasionally raises interesting points. He hates 95% of games, so if he says a game sucks I take it with a lot of salt. If he says a game's good, though, I definitely check it out.

Gene Simmons Declares War on Anonymous

If you think Mr. Simmons is going to come out of this with his dignity intact, you're wrong. There is no way in hell he's going to beat Anonymous. You can't beat anon. It's not even possible, because anon isn't an organization. It's basically Gene Simmons vs. the Internet.

The World's LEAST hated video game developer

What with their ever-lengthening track record of free stuff and the glory that is Steam, Valve is the obvious answer. A year ago, I might have put BioWare on the list, but they've taken some flak due to ME2 and DA2

Dragon Age Writer Suggests That Everyone Just Calm Down

This really bugs me. The idea that spawned RPG's to begin with, the very crux of the whole genre, is that you ROLE PLAY. When you make a character, you're not just stamping on a face to a human shell, you're CREATING A PERSON. This is why they have the "Biography" button on the menu. You sketch...

    Poll: gameplay vs story

Gameplay, for sure. A story-driven game with bad gameplay is just a movie that boots you to the main menu between each scene.

Stupidest thing you've heard someone say a 'real gamer' does.

"WoW gamers aren't real gamers." As a former and future WoW player, this one gets on my nerves a bit. People who have never really gotten into WoW often have this skewed version of how it plays. It's weird that a drink called Mountain Dew is being advertised as the "gaming drink".

    Are Humans Stupid or Evil?

My point is that we do not know how the average sentient race would conduct itself given dominance over a biosphere because we are the only ones to have existed. I will restate. Humans != turtles. Humans != ants. We don't know how ants would conduct themselves as a sentient species.

    Are Humans Stupid or Evil?

You cannot classify the human race under "stupid", "ignorant", "evil" or any other like single adjective because humanity is not comparable to anything. You cannot say that what we are doing is stupid and/or evil because you have absolutely no frame of reference and your well-stated theories...

why are there no WW1 games?

This. To anyone who knows their WWI, there is EXTREMELY good game material in the CEF campaign. Ypres, Vimy Ridge, and Passchendaele could be quite the levels if done well, and the entire thing has the makings of a great narrative. And the "combat is boring" issue is weak and deep down, you...

All hope rests on Guild Wars 2

The only thing that will kill WoW is Blizzard's other MMO. I'm not guaranteeing it will (hell, we don't even have any info), but the only thing that has a chance of toppling WoW before the 5th expansion pack is the product that can put "Hey! We made WoW, now we've made something new" on the...

If you could combine 2 games..

Halo + Bioshock. Or basically, a good single-player game set in the Halo universe. EDIT: Got a better one. Mount&Blade + Star Wars Battlefront.

Molyneux Promises Two, Three, Many Fables

Well, let's see, presuming Fable 1 was set in the High Middle Ages (so around 1000-1100) that would date Fable 2 at 16 or 17th century, which would be fairly accurate, as that's when the whole "gunpowder" fad all these young rapscallions are talking about now came in. So, presuming again that...

What games are you replaying at the moment?

Mass Effect. That's it, not counting the Too Human demo, but I go into a catatonic state if I don't go through that every couple days.
