Old Games you remember playing but can't remember the name of.

There was a game I had about 10 or 15 years ago. You played one of 4 monsters: - Dracula - Frankenstein - Bride of Dracula or Frankenstein (I think) - Some sort of swamp monster. Basically, the aim was to win a mayoral election by converting as many people in a town as possible. You could...

Games that you felt were ruined by one game mechanic

I have to disagree - I think that D&D rules can work very well in computer games. I know they're complex for people who've never played D&D, but it allows for a great deal of diversity in terms of character creation and advancement. Also (as a D&D player) it's nice knowing how the rules actually...

Games that you felt were ruined by one game mechanic

Prey - Whilst there were some things I liked about this game, the mechanic that killed it was that after about 10 minutes of gameplay, you gain the ability to travel to the spirit world. This means that every time you die, you just go there, kill a few spirits for extra health (though this is by...

What do you use for a computer background??

If you could tell any game developer one thing what would it be?

Wizards of the Coast: Make Baldur's Gate 3. EA: Stop making expansion packs for your dawn of war series which add one or two new races and then charging full price for each damn one. Microsoft: Release Halo 2 for Windows XP.

Has a new game ever got you interested in an older game again?

Well, some time ago I bought Dragon's Age Origins, but after playing it for a while I found that I had apparently been sold only part of a game, and that if I wanted to play all of it, I had to pay more money through downloadable content. That was the point when I got fed up and went back to...

    Underrated Films.

There Will be Blood had excellent ratings from critics (many putting it on their Top 10 Films of 2007), recieved two academy awards and was said by some to be the second best film of the decade. How are you reaching the conclusion that it is underrated? Also, anyone looking for some...

Laws of physics broken as a perpetual motion machine was invented

This is incorrect - heat can certainly be lost to a vacuum, in fact, virtually all heat that is produced eventually ends up in space. It is highly unlikly that the friction of objects moving in space would cause any significant heat buildup.

Laws of physics broken as a perpetual motion machine was invented

In space, an object is affected by the gravity of other objects (especially planitoids) which will eventually slow the object (depending on its original speed) and either force it into an orbit or a collision. Hypothetically though, if an object could be set in motion in empty space (far enough...

Laws of physics broken as a perpetual motion machine was invented

No, energy isn't being changed from gravity potential energy (GPE) to electricity. If anything, it is being transformed from electricity (powering the motor) to kinetic energy (moving the device) then back to electricity via a dynamo. You can't generate perpetual motion, since there will always...

Laws of physics broken as a perpetual motion machine was invented

If the fact that this thing looks like someone tried to replace the blades of a fan with ones made from their Meccano set doesn't tip you off that this is a hoax, then the statement that it supposedly breaks one of the fundamental laws of physics probably should. I have no doubt that any...

    D&D the peasant railgun?

This does work, though I'd advise against actually trying it, lest the DM decides to retaliate (if there is an Evil Overlord with some form of army, you could well find yourself on the recieving end of several orc railguns!) Although, if you do decide to try it, consider using craft...
