If the Pirate bay site is made illegal, then google and any other search engine that has ever allowed users to search for torrents would also be found guilty. If they bring pirate bay down under the same logic every search engine which has the site (a lot) would have to be brought to trial.

Torrents are not illegal, that's why it should be impossible for the owners of Pirate bay to be charged. They are a legitimate means to obtain non-copyrighted data, and that is where the charge is going to fall. And by the way even if they are found guilty, they do not pirate, they support it.
