Im kinda a dick about this. i either name my characters after their roles in the story, (Main character named "Main Character") their roles in the party,(Main character as "Tank") or swap names with other characters in the party (Cloud as Tifa, Tifa as RedXIII etc...).

i strongly dislike turn based. Part of what i'm good at in RTS games is psychologically abusing my opponent. I find that hard to do in turn based games. However, i like non competitive turn based games, typically SRPGs.

Job class system. They've failed every attempt at a story in the ones with a job class system. And its a fricken awesome system. Almost made X-2 playable if you turned off the sound.
