There's an online passcode in every new game. Most probably in the booklet itself. If you bought them first hand, then the code will be there, ready to be used.

Really the only one that comes to mind is Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines. A wonderful setting and story, ruined by the engine. I still managed to play it through twice, but I would pay full price if the game would be redone with a new engine.
