Do we need more female protagonists, or just more interesting ones?

I'd say both. Better writing is important period. But at this point there's more interesting, well written male characters simply because there's a lot more male characters. I'd say better writing would be awesome and top of the list, but more female protagonists would be quite welcome.

Poll: does removal of minor characters annoy you?

Most of the time I don't mind much. The most notable exception being Peeves the Poltergeist. I was pissed they didn't put Peeves in.

    Poll: Kid-friendly comic books/graphic novels?

This. For graphic novels, Bone is good, as is Polly and the Pirates and Girl Genius. For comics I'd recommend the Asterix series and the Tintin series. Those were some of my favourites. If she doesn't mind reading them online Widdershins, GaMERCaT, Dominic Deegan, The Bean, and...

    Games like Mass Effect?

Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition is a must if she likes Mass Effect. And, like several others on this thread, I'm going to recommend Baldur's Gate as well. The second one is worth it too.

    Poll: You are cursed!?!

Option 1. I figure at a certain point it'll all sound like white noise. I also have a tendency to tune out of boring conversations so the sounds are coming in but none of it is registering so I'm guessing I could probably figure out how to do that mentally as well.

    Poll: Worst Major Mainstream Actor:-

Adam Sandler. I have never liked any movie he's been in, and his acting is crap.

Poll: Prince William and Kate Expecting Baby

'Groan' More people fussing about monarchies and whether they like them or not. OT, I don't really care. It's their baby, not mine, and as far as I'm concerned the naming of a baby is totally up to the parents. Even if the kid is going to be the center of a media storm (See Siri Cruise...

    Games for young children

The Sly Cooper series is a good one, and Toy Story. The Lego Harry Potter and Indiana Jones are also good choices.

    Murder in Dragonborn Manor

The fallout from something like this would be horribly, horribly nasty in my family. Thankfully, none of us hate each other.

    Poll: A question for Un-Americans.

I go to Seattle two or three times a year and I've been to San Francisco already, so my next choice would be New York. Manhattan specifically, but I like exploring. After that Portland or more East coast. Of course, if I had that kind of money my first choice of destination would probably not...

    Poll: What is your nationality?

Heh. It's most of the West coast of Canada and the U.S. There's a book about how the region has a specific kind of mindset and way of being. Quite interesting.

    Poll: What is your nationality?

    Oh good! More Cascadia converts!

    Poll: What is your nationality?

About the Wagner post: Well, it depends on how you define it. The Ring Cycle is is three operas about Norse mythology, so I guess he did. I'm not entirely sure that he specified horned helmets anywhere though. I think you can blame the Victorians for that.

    Poll: What is your nationality?

I'm 5th generation West coast Canadian. From Vancouver specifically. And noting all the references to Canadian weather, I'll just say that B.C. has the mildest weather in Canada. We're somewhat spoiled.

    Your Title!

I was dubbed "The Grater Demon" by some friends. And yes, the spelling is correct in this case
