Everything has an effect on you. Even video games. While violent video games may not make me turn into a mindless killing machine, I think that it would be easier for me to put a gun to a person's head and shoot it after playing a game that teaches me how.

Haha, now it is popular, but in about twenty years it will won't be. Unfortunately, its the popular music that survives. Thats why it is popular. As for the question, I think that music is always progressing, and you can't criticize one generation for the brand of music they make.
