I would agree to this if he made subsidies to dental care, and did a public awareness campaign to floss, and brush your teeth. But this moron didn't, there's a reason public makers do this type of stuff, it's because it's better to help everyone as a statistic than it is to cater to the organic crowd who buy their food from whole foods.

Because just floating the idea will add even more pressure. Much like people responded to even just the impending Trump presidency, the suggestion of potential deportation without recourse will cause anyone coming to hesitate.

I don't think public awareness campaigns to floss and brush teeth would make much difference. That's already information out there.

The other factor here is that the fluoride should be consumed: it being ingested into the body and delivered through the normal processes for energy, materials and so on is better than hoping small amounts of it are absorbed through the mouth when brushing one's teeth. And therein lies another risk: if fluoride comes down to people taking supplements... you can guarantee some people are going to take too many supplements.

Short answer, you don't. Flat out doesn't happen, except in terms of generations, enough that people forget the bad old days. Or you get occupied by a foreign power like Germany was after the war, or you get a revolution (and that tends just to swap the corrupt leaders around).

Once your country shows itself to be totally corrupt, people don't just say oopsie and stop doing it.

does fluoride actually make its way into replacing the hydroxyl ions in the structure of tooth enamel (thereby preventing acid from turning the hydroxyl into water and weakening the structure) that way?

I suspect this is a test: what do the US people think, and will Congress let him get away with this?

If the answer in either case is heavily against, the news will emerge that this was never actually planned, just a stupid "fake news" anti-Trunp media story. If on the other hand no-one seems to care, Trump gets a new jet. And presumably a shitload more free stuff over the next few years, because if they won't rein him in here, they never will.
