While I like the thought of a Fallout movie, the whole movie about a game idea is flawed. To paraphrase Yahtzee, a movie has to be between 1 1/2 hours and 3, whereas a game can be 10+ hours. Try fitting that much story into that little time.

I suppose that means a game with little to no story could be made into a good movie. Go Painkiller!!! =P

No games should be movies, except maybe Metroid, but only if done properly and I emphasize the word properly.

I truthfully couldn't agree with any of those choices. Also the number one seemed like he was biased I would've expected Bioshock to be no.1 with a...good story and all. Also GTA: San Andreas...that is essentially any crime movie, ever.

so my list would be.

1. Legacy Of Kain
2. Bioshock
3. Marc Ecko's Getting Up (I just played it and really enjoyed it.)
4. Team Fortress
5. Half-Life
6. Devil May Cry
7. Far Cry 2
8. Assassin's Creed
9. Prince Of Persia (Trilogy, not new one)
10. Guilty Gear

All these would truthfully have to either be CGI, or animated. Cause once you introduce reall actors it just gets awful. The only ones I could imagine not animated would be 2,3, and 7.

Final Fantasy VI.

As long as they do
The world nearly being destroyed, and hundreds of its inhabitants slaughtered
in a competetant fashion, I'd watch it.

Also cool: Mog (my avatar) breaking stuff/killing people by dancing.

I think they'd have to go Lord of the Rings Trilogy on something like that. You can't fit all that story into 2 or 3 hours. I could see it being at least 2 movies with the first taking place in the world of order and the second one taking place in the world of ruin. And if they cut out the opera then the creators will have to answer for their crimes by being beaten to death with cartridges of the ET game.

Wait, did I seriously forget the opera scene?!

*Pulls out a katana from nowhere in particular*
Would you mind being my second?

But on a less suicidal and disturbing note, what about the genre? Especially factoring in Kefka. On one hand, there's what's in the spoiler (which you should know about already). On the other hand: "We're walking through a desert. Now get this sand out of my boots!"

Dissonance ahoy.

The Fallout idea's not bad, the Coen brothers could pull of just about anything.
Everything else on there was idiotic... especially FF7

a brothers in arms movie. a world war II movie based on a game. that would be a first.
Nope. I wouldn't want that. The game focused a lot on translating Saving Private Ryan on a game, so there would still be a lot of similarities to it.
i guess ur right, but saving pvt. ryan is still a great movie, so i wouldn't mind similarities, lol.

IF F.E.A.R. was done correctly, i think it would make a rather excellent horror movie, but alas, no such thing will happen.
Not aimed at you, but this is something that I have trouble with on the surface.

Am I the only one in the world who finds enemies that can die from high powered weapons to take it neatly from Horror movie and place it in the Sci-fi action world? Zombie movies aren't even horror movies any more because it's just a matter of getting some guns and having some fun.

Oh, and to the OP. Umm... Rainbow Six Vegas?

The video game and movie industries need to stay away from each other. One or the other almost always messes the other one up. With few exceptions this has almost never been done right. To me they lost their chances to cross over like that long ago.

I think they are fine with their own ideas they don't need to ruin the other genre and itself.
I totally agree. Movies based off of games and games based off of movies are doubly horrible when release side by side. I would like to see a tenchu movie. Wouldn't be hard to do, its just generic ninja killing.
