Just was on Kotaku/Amazon and that videogames are getting "1001" and one series.
Don't know really how to react to this, I'm assuming it going to be likes the others in the series (books, films etc.) where they aren't necessarily good, but you 'have ' to play them.
Would be interesting to see what makes it, regardless my is that the first one metioned is the "cathode ray tube one" that was made in that university.

Edit: Also it is prefaced by Peter Molyneux, so you know it won't be biased....

Well this sentence alone has put me off even looking at it, anything that arrogant SOB touches is going to be a huge letdown...Yeah, I've got a personal vendetta against him; but he really is an ass

I am confused. In the other books it was a single line of text per number... Oh is one supposed to know what they're getting into or get any feel for what each title is? Should you read it with Google at all timse available to find out what they're talking about?

Tony Mott is the editor of Edge so he does have some qualification.

Might be something like this.

Oh yeah...I mean: Syndicate, Populous 1 and 2, Dungeon Keeper...all of these were just terrible.
Not to mention that he must be buying media companies off, since games like Black and White, Fable 1 and 2, and The Movies are very well received critically.
But yeah, he's totally an arrogant jerk. How dare he be enthusiastic about his work? Who does that? Not my hero, Bobby Kotick, that's for sure! How dare he try something different with games, even if everything he wants to try doesn't work? I mean, we should just stick to tried and true methods, right? It's not a 'rut', it's being comfortable! Right?
Totally.

And even though he only did the preface of the book, I bet it's just got his garbage all throughout it.
/massive amounts of sarcasm

More on topic: I think the book sounds cool! I'll have to see if it's in any book-store around here.
