2 of 5 Gamers = Female? Videogame Statistics (Cool list!). It's pretty interesting, actually.

Some of you might know the videogame statistics, but for those of you who do not (you might be in for a surprise no matter what), here ya go:

I was surprised at 2 of 5 gamers being women.

EDIT: Apparantly posts like this which are not 'home-made' are sometimes looked down upon, so I apologize in advance if this has somehow offended you.

Neither did I, and I've been reading a few threads with the same idea.

OT: Well, the 2 out of 5 gamers being girls is followd by 80% of them on the wii, so it's no wonder that you never met any of them (at least knowingly).

Also, pretty good statistics.

Well, if you're not the least bit surprised at the stats, there's not. If you are though, I'd say there's plenty too

not that the large majority of the female gamers are wii users.
so not surprising at all, they are much more caasual gamers, than, say, the group of people here.

Hmm, I'm sort of wondering how they apply the stats for Wii Sports, since it comes bundled for free with a Wii. Because I've heard it has abysmal sales numbers.. because they bundled it with the Wii for free.

...So are they counting each Wii as a purchase for Wii sports, thus bolstering the numbers?

I think since it's classified as a game it's just on the list, whether it's bundled or not. So that means games sold = Wii units sold (almost, even) and that'd make it the best selling game ever, regardless of it being free or almost free.

I find it strange that Pokemon Red,Green and Blue are counted as the same game despite being bought seperatly.

Also, can you really say Wii Sports is the best selling game when it comes free with the Wii?

I dont believe most of this.
For a start i believe most MALE players play xbox/ps3
and i'm 98% certain that something has beaten duck hunt as a best seller.
