Mmm. Can't wait to celebrate tonight with my friends. So excited for my birthday weekend. The US drinking age can now bite me. I have legal documentation that says you can't deny me to drink anymore. Hope you all have a good day and a great weekend.

Edit: All those of legal ages (around the world), how did you celebrate? Did you go all out? Do something small? Hell, do you even remember it?

my 21st was anticlimactic having being raised ( in bulk) in the U.K so it was out of my system even though I lived in the states at the time :(

but have a wonderful one and enjoy it for me ;)

I have no problem with this getting locked. People have made less mind enticing threads than this. I'm just excited and I felt the desire to spread the excitement. I'll even change the OP just for you.

Silly US drinking age.
I could drink (legally) from 18.

After experiencing 3 years of legally drinking myself into a stupor, I can honestly say that the novelty wears off pretty fast.

Now days, conversations with old drinking buddies go like this (wording not entirely accurate as I don't have a precise memory and like to make myself appear all knowing when I am talking about myself to people who don't actually know me).

Buddy: Hey! Why don't we go into town and find a bar somewhere
Me: No, my head will hurt in the morning and my throat will be sore from screaming at everyone. You will have thrown up on yourself because you can't hold your drink and (other friend) will end up getting lost at some point during the pointless drunken trek we always make from one bar to the other and we will not be able to find him again until tomorrow morning. We will then not talk to each other for about a week until we meet up on a saturday night and set out to do it all over again.
Buddy: Then how about we play crash team racing while getting slightly tipsy?
Me: Yeah alright then.

Seriously, play kiddie video games while drunk, it's awesome.

I did nothing special, I,ve had alcohol before and I also had to work the next morning.

No matter what the legal drinking age is, though, it is a milestone, so congradulations.

I will now commence the obligatory birthday song:

This is your birthday song,
it isn't very long.

Happy birthday Neesa! Hope you have a ton of fun, try not to get crushed by it :3
I would cheer about the Canadian drinking age being 19, but I don't actually like alcohol >.>
Well let me cheer for you then.

Let's see, I was at home when I finally turned 19, so I went with my parents to a bar/grill, where I had steak and one beer. When I got back to university, I continued my usual tradition of getting plastered Fridays and Saturdays, only now I could do it legally.

The legal age in Australia is 18... but I didn't do anything big for it. My 21st however, now that was a different story. Mainly because someone started yelling out this drinking song and making me scull my drinks... about five in a row. Now THAT was a good night!

Congratulations for making it to 21! I'll be 18 on the 20th (no pot jokes, haha) and I am very excited!

I don't plan on doing anything but voting, however. Smoking looks like a waste of time as well as buying scratch tickets and pornography. It will still be exciting to be considered a legal adult though. =-)

21 will be exciting for me, I guess, but alcoholism runs so rampant in both sides of my family I'd get hammered just looking at a Corona. Haha be safe though. NO DRIVING! ^_^

.........................do I know you? My teacher informs 180 kids a year about that song and I've never heard it from anyone anywhere else. If I don't know you from that teacher.......... you most likely ate at that one place he ate at.

Ahh, bless. Your next major milestone will be to realise that being able to legally drink (it's not like you really gave a shit about that when drinking before now, right?) and getting drunk in general is very much overrated, and more fun can be had without inducing yourself to embarrassment, vomit and next-day headaches.

For my 19th (and thus legal drinking age) birthday I went to a midterm exam I had that night, it was ... awful.

Blackjack! Here are your winnings, ma'am.

Seriously, I don't get drinking alcohol - to the point of being drunk, at least. It doesn't make any sense. You're going to feel like shit in the morning, and you're also drinking a heft amount of poison. Why not drink methylated spirits for the kick? Gulping down a can of fly-spray sure sounds like fun too! How about a shot of battery acid on the side?

So many possibilities. And you've got a long life ahead of you - better hurry up and make it twenty years shorter!

/rage

EDIT: Okay, the last one wasn't a poison, but it's just as stupid to consume.

Silly Canadians.
You just wait.

One day, you'll wake up and realise you're Canadian.
That's right, we're taking over the world even as I type >:3
Hell yeah, we'll make super addicting syrup then BAM, jack up the price.
