Don't worry, it's not a versus thread...

For the percentage of people who are lucky enough to own both consoles, what games do you get for either? I mean, platform exclusives are obvious, but do you have a console you favour? Do you like the PS3 for racing games and the 360 for shooters?

This isn't a queation of which you prefer but more which you favour, even if it's subconsciously.

I don't own both, just a '60, but a few of the guys at work do, and they tend to favour the '60 for multiplayer games, as most their mates on on there, yet buy singleplayers for the PS3. I'd be the same, as most people I know favour the '60.

I guess it comes down to which platform the people u want to play with are on.

I tend to buy everything multi-platform on Xbox for the most part unless i find it cheaper on PS3 in the used bin.

For whatever reason, maybe because i bought an xbox first and i do love looking at all my gaming accomplishments and my gamerscore. I realize PS3 has trophies but i never got into them.

However, i try to buy every worthwhile exclusive on PS3 which there are a lot of. One thing Sony does a great job is awesome exclusives.

I own both, the 360 is my preferred console. If a game comes out for all, I get it for the Xbox. However, I do get some PS3 games. I only have about 5, I have MGS4, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 1&2 and Infamous.

I have around 20-30 games on my 360 though. Not to mention many others I have sold on/rented previously.

I have all 3 consoles.

I buy everything for the PS3 because its a sexy piece of kit, with most exclusives being big epic games that take more than 20 hours to complete on first play through.

I bought Half Life 2, TimeShift and Crackdown for the 360 because they run better on those machines, Halo 3 because its exclusive to it, unfortunatly my Xbox has bricked so I can't play them anymore.

I bought Far Cry 2 for the PS3 because it runs better on it, something about the CryEngine/The Dunia Engine that runs better on the PS3.

As for multiplayer, I was always on PS3 because its quite rare that you get idiots screaming at you, it still does happen but its a rarity. In fact the play style from Live to PSN is also different, you get more campers in Live, I really don't know why but thats been my experience.

Multiplayer games for the Xbox and singleplayer games for the PS3.

This is because my friends have Xboxes so I can multiplay with them. I singleplay on the PS3 because (watch out, opinion incoming) it is better, apart from the controllers.

I prefer the Dualshocks (oh no I'm calling them by the official name, I'M A FANBOY!) over the Xbox ones, I can play Half Life 2 and Crackdown no problems, but any other game I get cramps.

When my 360 was still functional I'd get single-player multiplatform titles for the 360 and multiplatform online titles (like BC2) for the PS3. And of course the exclusives for either console.

But because my 360 died I just buy everything for the PS3 now.

That wasn't the question. READ THE QUESTION.
HE ANSWERED THE QUESTION. He just said he is not interested in what the PS3 has to offer.

OT: If I had a PS3, I would buy the exclusives like Heavy Rain and Uncharted.
Technically he had no reason at all to answer in this thread as he does not own the both consoles named in the OP, hence couldn't even answer the question even if he wanted to.

I was raised on the playstation controller, I had a Playstation then a PS2 followed by a PS3; the Xbox is the last console I bought. What I'm trying to say is I never thought I'd end up preferring the Xbox controller to the Playstation one, but I do.

The main reason is because I have huge hands, the Xbox controllers fit my hands but the comparably tiny Playstation ones do not, they feel like a toy version. I always end up with gamers cramp after a decent session on the Playstation but not after an extended time on the Xbox. It's a purely ergonomic reason, nothing else to it.

Yes and I was trying to add to the conversation even though I don't have both. Sheesh I even changed the caps in the quote because there is no reason to get so mad over something so insignificant.

Only have a 360. The only exclusive I want is Heavy Rain. Most other ps3 exclusives have some sort of equal or better counterpart e.g. Infamous vs Prototype. I did buy a 360 because I like RPGs and the 360, due to mass effect 2, is slightly better.

I've always thought the quality of PS3 exclusives were generally a lot better, but before you shoot me down for that i haven't really played any newer Xbox exclusives.
I'm still looking to play Mass Effect although sadly i thought Dragon Age was a disappointment, i have no idea what to expect from Bioware.

I do really want an Xbox again but i just hate that fear of it breaking down every time i press the on button. I've put up with it before to play Bioshock but that's multiplatform now anyway ;D
I'm not big on the online play or shooters, i just wanted to play ME and try out the indie games in the online store.

I did vaguely get across that i owned both there, but i wasn't lucky enough to try out the Xbox for very long.
