Since I've moved off to college, my mom and stepdad got me my own 360 as a birthday/Christmas/Hanukkah (I'm not actually Jewish, but my stepsiblings are, so I like to pretend)/Easter/everything present, and then three weeks later when I came home for winter break the older Xbox 360 250G I bought last year with my brother and stepbrother red ringed. Obviously I wasn't too bothered since I have my own Xbox (except now I'm going to have to play Mass Effect 1 & 2 AGAIN), but I'm a little indignant considering that 250G (which was a replacement of our original 360 that red ringed Christmas 2010) was the first I bought DLC for. Is there anyway to recover that DLC or at least get refunded for it?

You can't get a refund for digital content you've bought, used and still own.

You should just be able to recover your Gamertag and all the attached DLC on your new 360, but you may have to do a licence transfer.

The simplest thing to do is go into Gamertag profile on your 360, look at the 'Download History' (under 'settings' - 'account')and just re-download all of your DLC, then perhaps perform a licence transfer if your new 360 isn't recognised as the legitimate console for the DLC.
