1. You just slip out the back, Jack.

2. Make a new plan, Stan.

3. You don't need to be coy, Roy, just get yourself free.

4. Hop on the bus, Gus. You don't need to discuss much.

5. Just drop off the key, Lee, and get yourself free.

Ok Ive got to ask... what is the purpose of changing your name, and destroying your shit twice? I get once, but why twice? why not 3 times?

Its your steps 1, 3, 4. Is there an added benefit?

I mean I cant speak for how Europe works but given the higher degree of socialized practices I would have to think that there would be some sort of equivilent to an SSN# that is still going to follow you no matter how many times you change your name.

If anything just changing country a couple times should neuter your trail.

I mean if your really intent on doing something akin to this, find someone dead who is as old as you, and then assume their life, THEN move to another place so as to not interact with anyone who might know that previous life.

But honestly, first and foremost... all this running, basically gets you no where as it all finds its way back to you somehow. So it really seems like a desire for some majorly wasted effort.

Which country are you from? As it is limited to British citizens or members of the Commonwealth. To class as a British citizen, you must have lived in the U.K for a total of 5 years.

The British military are more than happy to have foreigners join, but it is a slightly different process.

What branch are you looking at joining?
Yea not a commonwealth citizen. I've lived in London for 3 years, though am no longer living there atm. I'm guessing you need 5 years of continues residence in UK. That said my grandmother used to be a British national before she married my grandfather and changed it to Dutch, so maybe that could offer a 'quick' way to the British nationality.

Which branch?

Before I decided to not join the local guys and gals in green I was seriously thinking of joining the infantry. And seeing as that we only have air assault or mechanised, it was prob gonna be air assault. (I am 2cm taller then the recommended height for mechanised).

Honestly though like I said I want to see how Uni works out for me first, I figure I've got more then enough time left after that to join the armed forces. And more importantly I might just decide to join 'my' army before joining the British. Maybe I'm just going through a phase and that is the reason why I don't wanna fight for the home team. We'll see.

Thank for the info anyway.

btw.
I'm quite surprised that you guys allow naturalised citizens to join up, I think over here you need to have the Dutch nationality from birth if you want to sign up.
If your eligible for a British Passport, your eligible to join, so you might want to check that.

As for allowing foreign people to join, we have a whole regiment devoted to a them, The Royal Gurkha's, And their possibly a near elite unit.

As for plenty of time you do, and if your attending Uni, you definitely have alot of options open to you!

The maximum age to join the British Military is 32, so You have a fair while yet!

More than happy to help!

I always had a backup plan for that, in my case it is reduced to "if everything goes wrong, join the French Foreign Legion"

I doubt getting a new name and joining the Army is classed as a new life, if anything your signing yourself away to be a dog of the military. (Learnt the hard way)

This....Not only do you get military training, you can start a whole new life...and turn up as a french citizen, I know a few blokes who done 7/8 years in the legion, got rid of their past, criminal records and all, and are know either a PMC or work as security in france.

recently i just wanted to abandon everything i have now and just do something else with my life ... i was wondering how many ways you know to just start anew and build from zero

no.1 is something i'm actually going to do in a few months .. also wondering if any of you felt you wanted to just run away and leave everything behind too

1. legally change your name, destroy all your old belongings and join the army (in my case the UK parachute regiment)

2. immigrate, buy a ticket, get a working visa and tell no one where you're going

3. change your name, delete all old facebook/any other web accounts .. and move across the country

4. destroy all your belongings, take all your money out of your account, buy a tent/sleeping bag ... and just walk ... keep walking and never stop ... if you need money do oddjobs for people to pay for ferrys or whatever to get across seas .. or just stowaway ... never stop walking, become a nomad

5. join a group dedicated to a certain cause .. whatever the cause .. a group that gets you around and you're never in 1 place for too long .. yes they exist .... just careful which ones you pick ... some are kinda craaayzaay

so escapist .. what are your methods of starting fresh ... loool faking death and becoming a professional nomad thief .. damn i should have included that in my top 5 >.< .. ah well haha :D

Can I just say in relation to point 1, do you have any idea how difficult the training is for the Paras? I'm in the Application process for the Royal Marines at the moment and I've been training for about 7 months to build up the physical fitness required and even know I don't feel ready.

The Para's are one of the UKs Elite forces, with a drop out of 72%.

Just a heads up...

A better Idea, would be to join the French foreign legion, if you complete 5 years service, they will give you a French passport and you'll officially be a French Citizen. Meaning you can live in France, also they will create a completely new identity for you aswell, if needed.
dude i've been training and doing martial arts and boxing since i was 7 ... my mates dad is an ex para ... he told me i'd muller the test (do good) i'm a fast jogger and i do it for hours everynight for as long as i can remember, i can do over 250 pushupsin 1 sitting even after a heavy workout ... and i don't mean an hour at the gym (alot of ppl class 1 or 2 hours in the gym as a heavy workout haha) i DO know how hard the training is and i've faced harder (i've also been thinking of this for years ... this isn't just some new fad) physically .. i heard it's mostly mental excersises and determination that they look for from an ex para himself .. i know i've got the determination and physically i'm more than ready .. i just hope i'm as strong mentally as i think i am haha :D

As a Potential Royal marine, I'd have to say our training is harder :) but You can ask your mates dad about the rivalry between our two units :)

By the sound of this, you should beast the training, so good luck! just make sue you get all the paper work done first! the application process takes about 4/5 months to get through, and thats if it's quick!

Best of luck!
