?6 Andromeda in bed for a week yea/nay

Going to get surgery tomorrow. Was looking for something to do until I can go back to work.

Heard it isn't great but is it not even 6 quid awful?

6 quid is probably fine. The gameplay and moochabouts is alright, but I wasn't a fan of the script/conversations the voice actors are lumped with. And some of the alien character models look like dodgy discount toys. Oh and the weapons for the new alien race are bloody ugly lumps of junk from any design angle. But ultimately it would be a discount deal, sooo expectations are better off tempered. No, just a little more tempering than that...theeeere we go. I found it made way more sense if it's assumed everyone suffered a mild sort of brain damage from the intergalactic travel on the way there.

Edit: am assuming this was about ME Andromeda, it was a bit low on clarification, so could've gotten the intended message entirely wrong.

I'll probably be too high on pain relief to notice the flaws anyway.

Ah, that's no problem. Good luck and take it easy with the surgery and recovery period! Also, being on pain meds can make some action games a bit more hard work than normal when it comes to fast reactions and thought, so just knock the difficulty down if it starts being a hassle. Lethargy is harder to fight than a difficulty option.

Andromeda was not a bad game

It is the weakest of the Mass Effect games but if you enjoyed Mass Effect 1-3, you will likely enjoy Andromeda. I played through the entire thing and was perfectly happy with it.

I got it for $10 of my dollars. I would have been angry paying $60 but $10 was a good price. The ending mission had some parts that I'd enjoyed more than the suicide mission in ME2.

I liked it, although I'm a huge Mass Effect fan in general, so make of that what you will.

Also, bear in mind that I played it like 18 months after it was released, and it was fully patched to that point, so I didn't see most of the animation glitches and other problems that people complained about at release.
