7500LE vs 9400GT

I recently bought a new graphics card, a Geforce 9400GT PCI-E x16 512MB. My old graphics card which came with the computer (a hp pavilion) was a Geforce 7500LE. When i replace it and installed all the drivers for the new one, i went on WoW and tried out the new one, hoping it would be better than the 7500LE and it doesn't even work... surely 9400>7500. Plus the LE in the 7500LE means "low-end"...
So why isn't it better or is the 7500LE better than it?

You bought one of the worst cards possible...

The first number is the generation. The second is relative strength. So your card is generation 9 strength 4.

That card is just for opening word processors. A 7800 would be better than it for gaming.

I recommend getting a 9800 at least. But if your computer is an HP, you might just want to scrape the whole thing and build a brand new computer for gaming.

Versus threads aren't wel...welcom...aaarghh I can't do it, I can't be that anal.

Joking aside, according to this graphics card hierarchy chart [http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-geforce-price,2323-6.html], the 9400GT isn't a great card, it's kind of in the bottom half of the table.

Also, as mentioned in the PC Hardware Thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.105715], the naming system for the cards is very erratic and isn't always logical.

Tisk tisk tisk... The 9400 isn't meant for gaming. If your cup of tea is WoW and want to play on max settings, for a cheap price just get the 4670 at newegg.com
