Hello!
I'm Rob, a Film Production student at Stafford uni, England. Come the new year i'm thinking of buying a new pc (for reliable video editing) and a HD video camera.
Come my lengthy summer I plan on making a short zombie film - and had the idea of searching the Escapist for ideas as I know you're a talented bunch.

Pitch your ideas for a short zombie horror/action film you'd like to see.
I'll pick one or two of my faves and we'll discuss developing it at a later date. I have ideas but i'd also like more than just the input of friends on this one - get some more original ideas for the film.

Bit of a short post, but hey, i have stuff to do, it's christmas.
You'll also get your name in the credits and whatnot, as well as possibly having characters named after you, and special thanks.

Toodles, good luck and pre-emptive thanks!

Zombie film? I bet nobody has thought about that!

Here is something you must use: A proper action-scene set to "Don't stop me now" by Queen. Shaun of the Dead was a good movie, but it didn't use "Don't stop me now" to its full potential! You must do it!

I know, i'm captain original. But hey. This is the internet and zombies are fun.
Elaborate on the usage of "Don't stop me now"? :D
Sounds interesting - but I can already hear friends' groans as I say "...to 'Don't Stop me now'!"

It'd be perfect.

Can you imagine it?

DON'T STOP ME NOW!!!

But thats all I can give, Hubilub is quite the idea man.

Ok ther are 3 people, one an english guy, in a sherlock home out fit, a candain, in a lumber jack out fit, with a pet beaver, and french mime. They are fighting in some desert location, againt zombies, while i will survie is playing.

While Its playing, zombies in medevil knight armor come and attack them and the english guy is all like "my word! Why are they in aromor"
and the Canadain, is like "Maybe its that medevil fair over there eh!" So they fight throught the medevil fair. And just as they get rescued the french mime falls out of the hellicopter, and cups his hands around his face as he falls.

I call it, Medevil Mayhem. :D

Oh and the Canadian, is named, Terrance
And the english guy is named Sir Aurther Willium
And the mime has a name tag that reads Jacques

Thank you! I glad you like it! :)

Okay, so basically I think that if you're going to make a zombie movie, don't go for the whole action big fucking explosions constantly. I would really enjoy seeing a movie based around survivors being the main problem (survivors vs. survivors) this is what it is going to be like in any major scale catastrophe. I'm not saying don't but zombies in it, but (if they're slow moving) zombies would be the least of your worries. Try and put psychological effect in it too, such as loneliness, isolation, ect ect. Try and make it realistic read up on zombies, I know that sounds stupid but try and make this not far fetched. If you got questions I've got answers haha.

A christmass carol Carnage

Santa, making his last stand standart zombie movie style, at his North pole mansion, fighting off elf-zombies (the christmas kind of elves, not the LotR kind) with his huge candy-cane-club. Candy-cane sword-cane, candy-cane shotgun, bag-ó-presents that explodes (like nazi zombie monkey bombs)
The standart "important character dies emo scene" can be handles with rudolph beeing torn apart. He'll later return as a flying zombie reindeer.
The movie end with all the elves going into hibernation when the clock hits 00:00 on december 25'th. OR it could end with him finally reaching the stable, fighting rudolph, and plying away in the cane with the rest of the zombies. A small zombie elf is hidden in his bag for a cliché horror movie "cliff-hanger" ending.

Lots of cheesy one-liner christmas puns

Fill in the rest yourself

I like this, this is what I'm going for with my bigger zombie film I have in the works (but would work quite well in the short im using as practice) :D
Thanks! :D

Heard of Colin? The zombie film shot on a budget of £45?

Definitely make the zombies interesting though. By which I mean B-movie "interesting" and/or psychologically interesting.

I have heard of it. Is it out yet/is there a release date? I saw an article somewhere awhile ago and now I can't find anything else about it.

I recently saw the British DVD being advertised on play.com. Don't know about elsewhere...
