Anyone else think something like that would be awesome? With a big open world city and a big scary murdery eaty thing? Or is it just me, because I watched the film like, 2 mins ago?.
Kind of like grand theft auto but instead of hookers theres insecty parasite things!

They already made a Cloverfield game. It was called Crush Crumble and Chomp, and it was BRILLIANT.

My step daughter loved Cloverfield so i'm going to rely on her judgement and she said a game would be a good idea.

I tried to watch it but couldn't cope with the "freehand" camera thing. Makes me feel like they hired a pissed camera man.

I know it's supposed to be like that, like that bloody Blair Witch, but it makes me feel sea sick watching it bob around the bloody screen.

Thirty years later...

So how about a game like Cloverfield that lives up to today's gaming standards. You know, half way decent graphics, a good storyline...

My point is, I just looked up that game, and that looks nothing like what he (EDIT: She?) described. He's talking about playing as one of the people trying to avoid the monsters in a city under attack, plus it sounds like the game he'd want to see would be more of a horror game instead of a... whatever the hell that was.

Personally, OP? Fuckin' love the idea. Made right, I feel like it would be fantastic.

He :p

And I think that it from the monster pov could be fun too, but I was thinking of as a human.

How dare you sir? Crush Crumble and Chomp is a classic. Next you'll be telling me M.U.L.E. is bad.

I don't even know what M.U.L.E. is. Take note, I'm 22. Sounds like those games are far before my time.

GASP!

It's all good. I'm just giving you a hard time. Crush Crumble and Chomp was hella fun back in its day, though, and M.U.L.E. was one of the most influential games of all time. The number of today's developers that name check it when talking about what got them into gaming is pretty amazing. It's worth looking at, if you're interested in the history of gaming.

That age-old feeling of paranoia and fear-of-the-unknown was what made the movie great. So in the game you'd just be....scared of something that you won't see for 80% of the game? What would you be doing in the game? Just walking/escaping?

I dunno. It can be done, but I would pick a monster premise that actually has the possibility of you ever getting attacked, if I was making a monster horror game.

Rampage was better...
Apples and Oranges. Rampage was an Arcade smash-em-up. CC&C was a mini-RPG. I liked Rampage too, though. But only if I got to play as George.

Unless it has at least a game mode where I get to play as the monster then I wouldn't be massively interested.
Might be fun though. The creature might be fun to fight but if you got bitten by one of the little guys then you'd explode and that's a bit weird.

It would be cool but it would get old pretty fast, only so many ways to make running from a big ass monster interesting.

Agreed.

It should be a surrvival horror game where you are in the AFTERMATH of the monster's rampage, only occasionally having a direct encounter.

Ooooh... that sounds even more interesting. The opening of the game is during the attack, but the main chunk is the aftermath.

So, uh... anyone know any game developers?
