I want to play the Old Republic (the mmorpg). But I don't know if my computer is strong enough. Would this computer be suitable to play it?:

HP Workstation XW6200
Processor: Twin (2x) Intel Xeon HT 3.2GHz 2MB cache each
Memory: 2GB DDR2
HDD: 250GB SATA II
DVD: DVD+-RW DL writer
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce 7300GS 256MB
Genuine Windows XP Professional

Well would it?

Doesn't their site list the specs required to play? I'm sure even the smallest amount of research would uncover the results you want.

The answer is probably not. You g-card is weak. Go out spend 50 bucks and upgrade it.

Processor:

* AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better
* Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better
* Operating System: Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later

RAM:

* Windows XP: 1.5GB RAM
* Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB RAM

Note: PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB of RAM.

Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include:

* ATI X1800 or better
* nVidia 7800 or better
* Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better

DVD-ROM drive ? 8x speed or better (required for installation from physical editions only) Internet connection required to play.

Not with that graphics card.

Click here [http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/intro.aspx] and ask on that though, that will compare you against the recommended system requirements and it'll tell you exactly what's not up to scratch.

You'd also want to see about pumping your RAM up to 4GB as well. Even better if you can go to at least 6GB.

Not so much for the game itself, but if you're like me and like to task switch for say, a browser to read up on the game or while loading or waiting for party members before a raid, it helps to reduce swapping to disk.

Nope.

You're deficient in pretty much every area.

TOR can actually be quite pretty at high settings, but is pig ugly at low settings, and does not scale well at ALL to lower end machines. My girlfriend was running the game on a beefier system then the one you have listed here and it was borderline unplayable at times. She experienced constant hitching, ability delay, and staggering load times.

A super powered GPU is not really necessary for TOR, I was running it with everything maxed on my old 5770 before I passed it on to her, but the game is incredibly RAM hungry and processor intensive. RAM especially. 4GB would be minimal, I'd say. 8GB recommended if you want to alt-tab more than once than evening.
