A dream about Duke Nukem Forever

I had this dream last night and, from what I can remember, it was the funniest dream I ever had. Here it goes:

I just bought the game and got home. I opened the box. After shuffling through all the obligatory paper inserts and ads for other games and special editions, I finally reached the part of the contents where the game should be. And what did I find?

A check covering the cost of the game and all applicable taxes, and a note from Duke saying "I can't believe you bought it! Ha!"

This is all I remember before waking up. I must admit, I woke up laughing so hard I almost puked.

Here's my question: If this actually happened, would you laugh along with the GREATEST VIDEOGAME JOKE OF ALL TIME, or would you be pissed off? I think that's a valid question.

I'd wonder who at Gearbox thought ruining their company over a Duke Nukem Forever joke was worth it. The laugh at the enormous shit storm that would soon follow.

I'd lulz as long as I got repaid.
Same. I'd be bumed I missed out on a game I wanted (not this one - I despise Duke Nukem) but it'd be pretty hilarious.

I would laugh all the way to Randy Pitchford's house.

See, I think this is (in my own weird little mind) where the dream originated from. I liked the original, having originally played it in my formative years. However, after SO MANY years, every time I hear of a company purchasing and "announcing" that they will make the game, I just assume that they're doing so because they're going out of business anyway and want to continue the joke. If this is true about GearBox, since they made it as far as a demo and all, I think THAT kind of commitment to a joke might be admirable... to an extent!

Think of it as a version of "The Aristocrats" that took fourteen years to tell.
