A DS game for a long journey?

Hi fellow escapists, I am about to go on a fairly long car journey (about 10 hours), and I have nothing to do in the car :S

I have a DS, but I don't really use it much.. the only games I have are Castlevania: Dawn of sorrow and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.
I am looking to get more into DS gaming, but I'm not sure what sorts of games are out there really, I caught on late to the DS bandwagon. I have looked at a few top ten lists, but that really doesn't help much, they all just have the same games which look a bit iffy
I am looking for a game that has lasting appeal, maybe an RPG or something, and also something (semi)grown up, I really don't feel like playing a mario/pokemon game for 10 hours straight.

I realize this is quite specific, and maybe I'm overestimating the amount of quality games on the DS, but meh

TLDR: good/(semi) mature ds games with lasting appeal.

Might wanna try out Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey. Lengthy RPG with Blood, Fantasy Violence, Language, Partial Nudity, and good ole Sexual Themes. Rated M for mature.

Try final fantasy crystal chronicals 'ring of fates; for the DS, it's a fairly open ended game with a fun and simple combat system, a fair amount of difficulty, a fun story line, and good animation/graphics (by DS standards).

Final Fantasy IV! :) It has an incredible story and some of the best characters in the series; it's long-lasting, and the battle system is decent. The graphics are good by D.S. standards too.

Mario & Luigi: Boswer's Inside Story, and Okamiden are two good, roughly 20 hour quests, depending on what level of completion you go for.

Eh, it is kind of dissapointing coming from someone who loved VP1 and 2. If you want a better SRPG there is better to choose from. Devil Survivor does a good job of hybriding a standard turn based system with SRPG. I'd also recommend that as another one to check out.

Radiant historia, unique combat system which starts out easy but gets harder (as most things should) and a good story very chrono trigger esque.

The legend of Zelda games for ds were good. They are Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass.

I can vouch for Spirit Tracks. That game is great with lots of stuff to do beyond the main quest.

And if you want long-lasting, you can't go wrong with Pokemon. I know you don't feel like playing it for 10 hours, but give it a shot. It'll keep your attention for at least 7.

Well, those are my only DS games.

Shin Megami Tensei; Devil Survivor.
Nice soundtrack and battling, although grinding is a must. Warning: May induce rage when your strategy is not perfect .
