I read a small novel today 'Montana 1948' and I must say- I thoroughly enjoyed it, each sentence became a poem in itself. It was based in 1948, In a small town called Montana about a young boy who loses his innocence to the world, He becomes aware of life and death, sex and violence in a world of racism and sexism. A good read. Any books you enjoy reading?

The 'Troy Game' series by Sara Douglass. It's something a bit different in the fantasy scene. I'm re-reading it, and damn, I forgot how brutal it can be.

It is hard to describe without spoiling anything, but basically, there is a mechanism for protecting ancient cities called 'The Game', and when the labyrinth it is set in is in the wrong hands, everyone involved is manipulated and the world goes down the shitter.

Only problem with the series: you will lose the Game. A lot.

..

I would, yet again, recommend the 'Deverry' series (and I do) by Katherine Kerr, as it is some truly epic fantasy with beautiful scenery and fantastic fight scenes, but Troy Game is rocking my world right now.

The Demon Awakens by RA Salvatore is still my all time favorite book. The rest of the trilogy is great also, and the other four books in the saga are good, but there's just something about this first book that draws me in every time.

Another very interesting book to read that's full of war, lots and lots of bloody death, and betrayal and curses and miracles and love and hate and the rise and fall of mighty emporors and lowly peasants winning the day with an awesome Braveheartish ending... The Holy Bible

"War and Peace", by Leo Tolstoy.
I'm reading it right now 1/4 way through and I'm already hooked.

I got it for a Christmas present last year but had a back log of books to read, so I've only just started it.

Sadly I find myself out of books at the moment, so I'm simply rereading some old Stephen King book. Geralds' Game I believe it's called.
It's ok.

I recently re-read Everville by Clive Barker, he's still a master of under-stated horror. He seems to have this talent for making other-worldly concepts and horrific notions seem everyday and believable.

The Alchemist is a remarkable book that...
Well, to me, you know how people go, "OMG, this is amazing!" and it usually isn't?
Well, this book was.
And its very short, so there's no excuse to not read it.

Reading Tolkien's translations of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl, and Sir Orfeo. Absolutely beautiful. I really love the alliteration throughout Sir Gawain.

Favorite book of all time:

Cursor's Fury by Jim Butcher, part 3 of the Codex Alera series, which is coincidentally also my favorite series with Butcher's Dresden Files a close runner up.

Good books:

Villains by Necessity by Eve Forward
The Reality Dysfunction by I forget

Other good series:

Nightside series by Simon R Green
Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind
Temerraire series by Naomi Novik (I think, I'm spacing on the last name)

I still tend to return to 2 of my strongest fantasy stories I have ever come across while I must admit the mystical about Wolves is a passion of mine.

The Wild
and
Bitten - Kelley Armstrong.

(I will add the authors' proper names later, gotta run in a sec)
