Ok So I was looking around the net and apparently there is almost little to no Steampunk games in the world. I was looking into playing some and All I ever found was Rise of Nations Rise of legends. Unfortunately I{f I play RTS's I prefer them able to win the game with Diplomacy, A.K.A Grand scale games. So... My Question, Does anyone ANYONE know of a good Grand scale Steampunk RTS? If not any Steampunk games in general would be Highly appreciated.

Addendum, Ohh and Unfortunately I AM limited to JUST PC and again, sadly JUST windows XP.

For first-person stealth based gameplay, you could try the Thief series (or The Dark Mod total conversion mod for Doom3). Other than that, I don't really know of any steampunk games as such :/

Not sure you know anything about modding? Your best bet might be to just make a steam punk mod for Empire Total War. If your looking for a good steam punk rpg I'd suggest Arcanum. It's made by the same people who did the original Fallouts I think.

Well, the RTS game Rise of Legends has a faction known as the Vinci, who use alot of steam tech eg. clockwork men, steam tanks, and their master unit is a massive steam-powered mecha-spider that puts the one from Wild Wild West to shame.

Arcanum [http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/arcanum_of_steamworks_and_magick_obscura] is what I consider to be the most triumphant example of steampunk game.

Bioshock gets an honourable mention.

There is the aforementioned Rise of Legends, though only one faction is even remotely Steampunk-ish.

For steampunk gaming, though, my guess is you should go look into Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.

I haven't actually played it, but from what I've heard it's a Baldur's Gate-ish game based around a mix of steampunk tech and magic (which don't get along so well, in either reality or the game)

I haven't heard of any others, though.

dude the Final cannon Upgrade from the Research lab is ridiculous. Also I love the Mining Machine, It's like a strip mining machine. But unfortunately that game is match based RTS and despite the amazing design, Match based is always so... combative. You can't Empire Earth 2 it where you just manage to diplomat your way to victory. Sorry I know I'm kindof being non-conducive to your Suggestion; it's just that I'd love to see a Civ style Steampunk game

I'd say Bioshock and Fallout 3 are both steampunk-ish.
Fallout isn't steampunk in the least, don't confuse the guy!

Also, to everyone saying Bioshock, its only a VERY loose interpretation of the genre. Not all Retro-Futurism is Steampunk.

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magicka Obscura is probably your best best. It plays like the old Fallout games, but has a great setting where a traditional fantasy-esque world is currently under going a technological and industrial revolution and the magic of the old world is starting to clash with the new technology. Its very interesting, though unfortunately it never really takes full advantage of its setting and still plays a bunch of your typical fantasy tropes perfectly straight.

Technically, since nuclear power is basically just used to create steam, wouldn't it just be a technological extension of steam punk?
