Hello to all escapists who read this topic.

So I have a terrible dilemma that has been plaguing me these last fews days. The choice to give out candy or not to give out candy to trick or treaters.

Now I know normally people might be outraged that one would even think to question the idea to give it out to kids on such a festive holiday. But it's really bad dilemma for me and here is why. I have been living in my apartment for 3 years and each year days before as well as after kids have been knocking on both my front and back door then taking off.

Now my sister has so far stopped the little b******s from knocking on the back door by posting a sign that says anyone who knocks on it is being video taped and will be tracked down by police who will then be shipped to juvenile. But they are still doing it at my front door.

Added to the fact that last year while I was out of town on that day and someone broke into my home and stole most of my stuff. As well as the recent scare with a guy outside my home stealing my wi-fi (I only found out he was out there was because of the prank) I have come to the dilemma on whether or not to give out candy this year.

Because a part of me says that because I never see these kids who are playing a form of ding dong ditch I might be giving out candy to those same kids. On the other hand I am denying kids who come to my door and have never done anything to me the reward of free candy and a good time that I enjoyed as a child.

So with that being said I would like to hear some opinions

Disregard children. Keep candy.

Use air-horn to chase them off XD

I prefer to sit atop a high place with a large caliber rifle.
Either there is only one or two of them, and i can pick them off before they even get to my house, or if it's a large group i simply shoot the hidden grenades i placed around to take out clumps of the little buggers.

What do i do really?
Buy sweets, kids never actually go to my house, eat sweets.

I give out candy. Why should I take away their treat they're somehow obligated to get?

You could migrate to Belgium. We don't have the whole trick or treat thing here.

I say give it.

The kids normally say thank you, and realistically if you're one of the people these kids remember having got candy from, chances are higher they'll stop pestering you.

Well I'd say definately say give out candy (or sweets since I'm British), but that is due to the fact that if I don't then my house will get egged. I'd rather not spend the first of November cleaning egg off my house.

If kids in your area don't trick or treate with a boxes of eggs then consider yourself lucky.

Nah, just give them candy, man. It's not like they're going to kidnap you or put a gun in your head.

I would probably won't give them candy. I mean what the worse can happen? There are plenty of houses/ apartments for them to get candy elsewhere.
Well ok they may prank you eventhought you lived in a apartment (they can't egg your door?) so I would suggest be prepare fo any prank later that night.

I would tell you to give them candy, but then again I can't really imagine how your situation feels.
I live in a large 100-year old house at the end of a dark road, surrounded by trees which currently bear no leaves.
Kids don't come here no matter how much I decorate.

I handed out candy once and I absolutely hated it. It was so annoying having to get up every ten minutes to give kids candy.

A Pinkie Pie who doesn't Share candy!, Im shocked!

OT: I'd say just give out candy anyway, and if the kids who have been pestering turn up and receive candy, they might stop if they see you for a nice person and realise their mistakes as human beings. theres about a 1/3 chance that will happen.

You buggers are lucky.

Kids that trick or treat around our town expect you to give them money. Same with carol singers aswell.

I don't answer the door.

Plus, heard a comedian mocking it all once and it made me giggle. Give a kid candy in the street and your a pedophile but don't give a kid candy at halloween and your a heartless bastard.

When they come to the door just politely smile and throw a custard pie at them... two birds with one stone...
