So, in "Fall 2013" Microsoft points are to be removed and replaced with just real world money. Any points you have left will be converted, so that is something.

I buy Microsoft points with the cards you get in Game, Gamestop, WHSmith, etc. I also buy Gold membership the same way. I never put my credit card onto the system and hopefully won't have to, but will I have to if I want to buy things anymore?

What I mean is, is that the only way I am going to be able to buy things, by buying them through the Xbox, or will I be able to buy the Xbox version of iTunes cards? I think you can do it with the Playstation as well, maybe even the DS and Wii.

I would just prefer not to give them my credit card information, but from the bits and pieces I've read, it sounds like I am going to be forced to if I want to download anything. Does anyone know if I will, will not, etc?

Thanks

(Also, I put this here because I felt it was related to gaming.)

They don't state where they get this information but I think it's safe to assume that you can buy the gift card equivalent to Microsoft points, if for any other reason the sheer amount of kids that buy things but don't have a credit card. I feel it would also be safe to assume that your existing MS points would convert over to real money on your system.

Although with some of their previous decisions, I'm not sure it's safe to assume that Microsoft does the smart thing... :p
