How much does a bottle of Snapple usually cost? I went to a diner in Göteborg aka Gothenburg in Sweden today to buy a bottle in order to see what it's like, and it cost 32 kronor, which is what three regular McDonalds hamburgers cost. (I know that thanks to their ads; I don't actually eat at McDonalds. That'd be gross.) So how many dollars does a bottle usually cost? I don't know if there are different sizes, mine is "16 FL OZ (473 ml)" according to the bottle.

Dude, I just got back from holiday in Sweden, everything is like double/triple the price of stuff in the UK. A Beer was about £5 (500 kronor) and it wasn't even a whole fucking pint! Outrageous I say :p

Yet on the flipside, when I went to the USA last year everything was cheaper than in the UK. Beer was cheaper (though that was bottles, not pints, since the US doesn't seem to have grasped the idea of the pint), and I managed to get two newly released CDs from Virgin Megastore for less than the price of a normal album in the UK (and this is all taking exchange rates into consideration too...).

Wow, that's a pretty good deal! However, I was under the impression the Americans dont really drink good beer, so that may balance out the benefits of the excellent cost :p

Ouch, and I though my local was expensive...

However, almost all of Sweden's female population are outrageously good looking, so I guess the high beer prices are some kind of compromise :p

Just popped in here out of curiousity (wasn't expecting a question about snapple o0)
We don't have Snapple here in Iceland, I'm not from America, and so don't really have any reason to be here, but Wadders' post caught my eye.

As of today (sat. sept.19th) 5 British pounds = 56 Swedish Kronor(8$), which is nowhere close to 500 (probably just a typo^^) but it still sounds strange, I'd have thought a beer in Sweden would be around 40 Swedish Kronor (around 3 and half pounds)(5$80c).

That said, a beer at a bar in Iceland a beer goes for around 900 Icelandic Krónur, or four pounds forty(7$20c).

To be on-topic : a quick search on google turned up the number 1$39c as a common price for Snapple, that's 9.55 Kronor (around 0.85 British pounds).

Sorry for barging in xP

Could it be because of Sweden's socialist system so embargos and taxes are high? Just a thought.

Also, yes, yes they are good looking.

You are correct my friend, 'twas a typo. Should have typed 50 Kronor.

And yeah, you could just about get beer for around 40 Kronor, but it's shit. For a fairly ok lager we were paying just shy of 50K. Still, Sweden is an awesome place, and I guess if you live there, then the wages match the prices.

I was not expecting this question, I was totally expecting some political or cultural bashing of America. I was pleasantly surprised.
According to the internet/Amazon, it is about $7.99 for a 6 pack of 16fl oz bottles.

We also get games cheaper, I know I will be enjoying my MW2 for $59.99 :p
hehe...
had to do it.

Actually Budweiser isn't that bad, and they had Heineken too in most places, no British stuff (I wonder why...?) but still some good beer. And they love Guinness over there too ;D

One would hope the wages matched the prices =P (which they don't in Iceland at the moment, sadly) And I have to say I agree, Sweden is an awesome place to visit, especially since I'm the kind of person who's okay with drinking a lesser quality beer if all I'm after is the inebriation - plus, if it's saving me 10 Kronor per beer, after four beers I could look at it this way : the fifth one is free!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the main reason. Would have thought that EU standards would have brought alcohol prices down, seeing as they have been members for like 14 years, but I guess not.

To be fair though, their taxes seem to be going to good use. The public transport in Stockholm was amazing, and everywhere is so clean and tidy, and safe feeling. I wanna live there.

With regards to the girls, I just can't work it out. Is it something in the water? Whatever it is, I'm not complaining.

Ahh, it can't be that bad then :D Might have to pay them a visit at some point. Although I'm not a huge fan of Guinness I'm afraid, to me it tastes like soil... Maybe I'm just not manly enough to enjoy it.

Ahah, I like your way of thinking!

Damn, I've kinda de-railed this thread a bit...

I do believe the OP's question has been answered, so perhaps a thread hi-jacking can be 'justified'?

Oh yes, we LOVE Guiness! Although I have been curious, is it the same both here and there?

Did you try a Sam Adams while you were here? It's generally good stuff, but a little too hoppy for me. The good news is that there are about a hundred different varieties of it depending on what is in season at the time.

oh yes it is, try the Canadian version of Bud, yes there's 2 different types. it's actually better. American beer is watered down compared to Canadian beer

I think it's the same, I'd guess it would be. Been a while since I went to the US though. Didn't try a Sam Adams when I was there, is that just an ale then or what? When I went though, I was 17 so I only drank when I could get away with it, whereas it's more lax in the UK (it was almost my 18th anyway) but you have to be 21 to drink alcohol in the US, I believe...?

Supposedly it tastes worse the further away from Ireland it is, perhaps it doesn't travel well or something.

But maybe that's just vicious rumor :p
