I've recently finished reading The Last Stand of Dead Men and, while good, it was pretty gory; normally this wouldn't boil me BUT I found this book (and the ones before this) in the children's section! Now I know that books like Harry Potter have violence and death but it sees pretty tame compared the Skulduggery Pleasant books. But its not just violence there's also some: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GettingCrapPastTheRadar
So I wanted to know if any of you think the SP should be classed as "young adult" book or not?

I think so. Don't get me wrong, I love the series, but nevertheless I think it's a children's series, because that's the way it's written and marketed. I think that over time the style has evolved to become less typical of teen books, but any good YA fiction will do that in its own time.

That's right, I said it. YA fiction can be good. Whatcha gon do, punk?
