How long did it take you to finish the core game and the dlc.
I have just bought the goty edition and have played the core game for about 25 hours and it seems like I have made no progress what so ever on the main story.

It really depends how you like to play. If you wander around without using a lot of fast-travel and exploring time adds up.

I think it took me something like 50 hours on my first play-through, not fully exploring everything.

It depends. The main quest is fairly short, but just exploring and doing all the sidequests will take you ages. Like 150 hours+ If you're looking to do absolutely everything.

I wandered a LOT before I got to doing all the main story so I put in like 80 hours or so, and I still haven't finished 1 of the DLCs due to the game freezing on me :/

Edit: This post made me start playing it again :p

I finished the Vanilla game, no mods or DLCs, in about 60-70hrs I think. That's with all quests completed, most of the map explored, etc. Recently bought Point Lookout, but thanks to Windows LIVE being a piece of shit I lost my progress about one third through, roughly three hours in. The DLCs are sorta sucky compared to the Oblivion ones, I feel. But that's just me.

As it is, the main storyline in Fallout 3 can be completed in roughly 2-3 hours, probably less if you know what you're doing.

Took me about 3-4 days to completed the main story. But I was doing a few side quests here and there.

My first run through was 60 hours. But I did skip a whole lot for some odd bizarre reason, even though I could have sweared that I didn't skip that much. So now I'm going through it again before I dig in to the expansions.

If you want to do everything in the game you're talking around 150-200 hours.

Quests only, anything from 20-60 hours.

Or, if you're like me, 300 hours and counting.

I did every quest I could find apart from Nuka-Cola, Got to shot them in the head and Just business and it took me around 50 hours. For the GOTY edition that is.

My first save before DLC was easily 80 hours. But I did everything, found every bobblehead, collected a majority of the skill books, did every side quest, took in the scenery. But even so, my second playthrough was longer. I swear, I don't know how they did it, but I've played through like 6 times now, and each time I find and area and I think, "I've never seen this before! Where did this come from?" If you have all the DLC, and you intend to be as meticulous as I am, I'd say it added another 30-40 hours of gameplay.

But you can rush through the story quite quickly. Personally, I didn't find the story to be the best part of the game. It was all the little things that I loved the best. It was very immersive for me.

Probably around 30-40 hours before I completed the story, I got distracted a lot. Bethesda games do that to me.

I've done the main story and all the DLC except for Mothership Zeta. I've logged in about 275 hours at this point, and am still looking for some random sidequests. I also make up my own quests, such as "Defeat a Behemoth with a Chinese Pistol". Still working on that one.

I've been playing forever now it seems....probably logged about 80 hours in the last six months....and I think I'm getting close to the main storyline's conclusion. However, I have done a vast numbe rof side quests and DLC content in the middle of all that, too, with plenty still to go.

I don't remember how long I played. But I do remember accidentally beating it.

The main quest was so short, I didn't think it was actually going to end when it did.

The main story takes about 10 hours to complete. But this can go into the hundreds of hours depending how much you explore.

By the time I finished the main game I was about 40 hours in. I bought all the DLC but I haven't played any of them yet.
